Following the Steps of Alexander the Great - His Forjación

After the event his horse Bucephalus, Alexander earned the respect and distinction of all, but as always, it was not enough. When he was 13 years, Philip called nothing more and nothing less than to Aristotle himself, the great philosopher to personally educate Alexander. At first he refused, Philip offered huge amounts of money and land but Aristotle did not yield. Finally, we made an offer he could not refuse. He promised that if he was to educate Alexander, Philip was in charge of rebuilding his hometown of Stagira, Macedonia. Aristotle accepted. Alejandro

now had the best teacher that I could find and the teachings of Aristotle followed him throughout his life. Even when Alexander was a man of war, if reason prevailed, as Aristotle taught.

Now Alexander was born with high ideals, but not all positive. 150 years before Alexander, Medical Wars against the Persians had devastated Greece and leaving it to the brink of destruction. But history took the course that bears after battles as Marathon, Salminen, Thermopylae and Plataea the Greeks survived the Persian invasion. Alejandro

vowed to avenge the war, and is the reason why the campaign would aim for greater achievements in history. And the time had come. When the young Macedonian turned 18, finally came time to demonstrate their expertise and value. In 338 BC, Thebes and Athens to Philip and Alexander fought in the Battle of Chaeronea. Alexander was in command of the 1,800 heavy cavalry riders, their moment had arrived.

Gpa Helmets In New York City

Following The Steps Of Alejandro Magno - The Son Of A God

Alejandro was born in the city of Pella, the ancient kingdom of Macedonia in northern Greece and that has absolutely nothing to do with the Republic of Macedonia today. Born in the shadow of Mount Olympus, the highest mountain in Greece and home of the gods, who were so important in its history as much as it was. For Alexander, the gods like Zeus, Apollo, Dionysus, etc ... were real, and proclaimed himself the son of Zeus. Born on July 20 in the year 356 BC, and it is said that there were at least 3 day omens could not mean anything other than the fact that the child had been born was not a common or ordinary.

Alexander's father was the magnificent King Philip II of Macedonia. One of the great generals of the ancient world, but a small man with enormous charisma, blind and lame, dying alcoholic, womanizer and a few to have 7 wives, but builder and unifier of the Kingdom of Macedonia and founder of one of the two armies most powerful of the Ancient World: the Falange Macedonia.

His mother, Olympia, at age 13, its beauty was that Philip fell in love with her. She was mysterious, hard and mystical. Constantly to rituals to the gods but in a very extravagant, is said to have slept with snakes.

Combining the genius of the father and the mother's character, Alexander forged from small a personality that always made him stand out. His mother claimed descent from Achilles himself, a character that inspired Alexander throughout his life. The Iliad was the favorite book of Alexander and in fact always slept with under his pillow. Achilles was the hero of Alexander as Herakles (the Latin Hercules) and his life was compared with them and competed to emulate the greatness of both.

A famous anecdote of Alexander the great personality that shows he had since childhood. When he was only 10 years, a very brave horse was brought before King Philip II, it was said that the horse was simply indomitable. The best riders tried to tame it, all failed. Philip thought that the horse was sick or had any control curse and kill him, but just before doing so, her small son Alexander asked permission to try to tame it. Alexander approached the horse and climbed in, and just before the horse began to jump and hover, Alejandro will be turned to face the sun, the young Macedonian had realized that the horse was acting that way because scared of his shadow.

Everyone was stunned that the little son of the king had tamed the horse, his father Philip in return bought it as a gift and Alexander called it "Bucephalus." Philip approached his son, full of joy and said

"Seek another kingdom, my son, Macedonia is too small for you"

After Alexander's Footsteps My University

In 1998, BBC sent an adventurer, Michael Wood on a journey of 20,000 miles. The objective: the footsteps of Alexander the Great from Macedonia to the ends of the earth at that time in India.

Today, 10 years later, all my following posts are just a small circumference tribute to the greatest man, general, conqueror and dreamer who has set foot on Earth. Alexander III of Macedonia, justly called "the Great" was one of those men whose greatness was such that he died to just 32 years.

was never defeated in battle, his men loved him as much as they loved him. This is not a common history since it is not an ordinary man, is the story of the man who conquered most of the world before the age of 30, is the history of man for whom the world was not enough.

Why Does My Stomach Stick Out After I Eat

I remember seeing the film "The Patriot", that of Mel Gibson talks about the history of the American Revolutionary War. I was a moderately pubescent worship when I saw it and thought the title should be precisely what you think about listening to the title, a patriot and loyal man to his country fighting for its freedom and independence, today in my class American History, I learned that it is not.

In the second half of the eighteenth century, the colonies of America went through a difficult time under the yoke of England, whose parliament required to pay taxes to the main products exported to the colonies, mainly tea, this in order to pay debt fell in England after the Seven Years' War.

obviously Colonies protested that such taxes were unconstitutional but England fought back saying they were completely legal because the colonies were considered a simple extension of territory. Given the refusal of England to drop the taxes, the colonies decided to make a trade blockade, closing all imports and exports between them and England.

The situation began to get tense and the colonies began to arm, it was time to measure the forces. In the Colonies, at least 20% of the population was devoted to England, especially in the South and 100% in Caribbean colonies, the rest of the population was devoted to the Colonies. And it is precisely among the rest of those loyal to the Colonies we found the originally called "Patriots", which are nothing else but that those opposed to England and supported the trade embargo.

A curious but next time you see the movie, I know exactly who they were and that they speak, and now you know too.

Free Downloud Imperialism I

1 month ago I started a new stage in my life, the University. It was harder than I thought. Those who know me already know and those who do not tell them that my sport and my passion is baseball and decided to pursue my dream and my career here in America.

arrived on 26 August at the city of Baltimore, Maryland, around 5 pm, my coach took me there and brought me to the town of Princess Anne, where I spent the night with some teammates.

was a tough night, I had no way to call anyone, or Internet to chat with my friends and family, he was alone, scared, away from home and knew they would soon return.

missed everything as never before had, as a small child cried all night and only thanks to the memories, letters and gifts from friends and family could survive the night.
Al
next day, the coach picked me up at 7:15 am and brought me to campus, University of Maryland Eastern Shore is the name of my school. I started with the records and paperwork that took me all afternoon, I was hungry and sleepy, but mostly I felt something I never felt before, I felt I had nothing, I was alone and there was nobody who could help me.

When it was over, I finally reached my room, was cold and messy. It was equally difficult night, I started to unpack and consoled me alone with my music that I could hopefully bring. That night I did not have Internet and started to frustrate me, I missed everything like never before had done.

only tired I slept through the fast and the next day I had to continue with more and more paperwork and records and that was during the week. By Wednesday I was finally able to get an Ethernet cable so I can connect to the Internet and was a relief to talk to my family and friends, I felt as if they had spent years and were only 3 days.

The first week was very difficult, there were times when I came the desire to simply leave everything and return to my home, not as well explain what I felt, would have to experience it and have it should know how difficult it is to resist and persevere in these situations, and today, a month after that, I am very proud to have done, definitely what does not kill you makes you stronger.

The second week was much better, I met my teammates and started classes, my schedule began to fill so I was busy part of the day which I used as a good distraction from thinking about home. It was also difficult because I knew no one in the entire campus more than the coach but they were all so nice and friendly which immediately began to correspond with them.

the third week and had a friend from the Dominican Republic and a friend from Colombia, officials began training and was now fully occupied since 8 in the morning until 8 at night, go to my room every night tired yet very happy, doing the odd slope then spent hours talking with my friends and family to take my well deserved sleep after.

Today is already a month since I got here and I'm very happy, has not been easy but I am more than trailer and here there is only way forward. The workouts are much heavier than I imagined but I am so happy because that just means progress and improvement. On the other hand, what if I missed some were lessons, took 6 lessons covering 16 credits this semester, and I'm really not feeling, is not nothing heavy, the UP did not have a day off, were read daily, 3 or 4 weekly tests, practical work, essays, etc ... here I feel like back in high school. Professor Padilla is that you are perhaps the only one who reads this and actually do the work that all teachers in the UP is impeccable, 3 years were very heavy but true that we prepared as a few, congratulations to you and everyone else great teachers.

Anyway, I still have 3 months here before returning home, and just counting the days, but I really invite you to everyone who has a dream or goal you want to achieve, strive for it. Dreaming is easy, not achieve much, but are these people who have the courage to take the risk and leave everything to pursue something that finally they succeed and those that have the greatest merit. Great success requires great sacrifice, but the reward at the end is priceless, do not think, just act and do whatever it takes to achieve what they want because that's where you see the caliber of person one is. Good luck to all.
