Gloucester Lights In Sky

Day of Memory for Truth and Justice

Today is a very important day for all citizens of Argentina.
March 24, 1976, a junta composed General Jorge Videla, Admiral Emilio Massera and Orlando Agosti brigadier took over power in Argentina. Following the coup, the military dictatorship, calling itself "National Reorganization Process," de facto ruled Argentina between 1976 and 1983.

A disastrous season for the Argentine people left emotionally and trimmers society with more than 30,000 missing. Today marks 35 years of that March 24 and in tribute to all those who suffered persecution, imprisonment, death or disappearance during the repression carried out by state terrorism is that remember this day as "Day Memory for Truth and Justice "
This is part of our history as a people, society and ours, we make this day a day of reflection and that does not happen again NO MORE ...

Fragment of the Charter of Adolfo Perez Esquivel, Nobel Peace Prize, with respect to the 30 anniversary of the coup.

"The helps memory to illuminate the present and create the future in people's lives and in our own lives. History is the memory of the lives of the people, that was built in the time between light and shadow, between pain and endurance. Argentina is shaken and violated by the military dictatorship and all the Latin American dictatorships imposed implemented through the National Security Doctrine for the U.S.. Military coups and terror mechanisms, methodologies that led to murder, torture, disappearances, destruction of productive capacity, and the thousands of exiles scattered around the world are in our memories ....... .
